Today on Science140 - Periodic Table Scrabble!!!!!

Today on Science 140 we are having a bit of fun. We're playing Periodic Table Scrabble!!! We want you to construct words, sentences, phrases etc using the symbols of the Periodic Table. Obviously, we would like the phrases to have a science theme but we're not too picky! Here are some samples: CrYSTaLiNe, FrAcTiONAl, LaSEr BeAm, NeON & PRaWN. Tweet us your own word magic using the hashtag #Science140 or leave a comment below!

There are just a few days left in our science themed social media project. Just to remind you, we will be collating all the best tweets from the past 100 days or so in to a book, due to be published in October.  All proceeds of this book will go to the Cystic Details of the book title will be released very shortly so stay tuned!

The countdown is on - we are now in the last two weeks of the Science 140 project. The 30th June is the final date for your tweet to be included in our book project, although we will be doing some special Science 140 events in July (stayed tuned). So far we have logged over 3000 #Science140 tweets and are in the process of whittling these down to the final 1000 for inclusion in our book - which will be published in October. So, if you've been holding back on submitting your tweet sized science facts, definitions and explanations get going now!

Suggest a title for our book!

Hi all. Today's Science 140 challenge is a bit different. We are currently very busy collating all your tweets in to topics and themes (a difficult job - there are so many brilliant submissions) and have had little time to think of a possible title for our book, which will be released in October this year, just in time for Christmas!

We want a quirky, fun title for our unique book - something that captures the imagination, that reflects the broad mix of topics but doesn't stray too far from its roots - science & nature. Remember, it's a random collection of tweet-sized science facts, definitions, biographies and jokes. We have some ideas, but felt that since twitter is making the book, then twitter should get the opportunity to name it too.

So, put your thinking caps on and give it a go. As usual, you can suggest a title on twitter, using the #Science140 hashtag or using the SUBMIT button above.

Legal bit: If a twitter sourced name is used in the final book, the person who submitted it will be credited but will forego all copyright of that title on submission using the #science140 hashtag.
